Hello and glad you could make it! :) Okay, now for all those on here who are X-Files fans--I met an XF person the other day!!!! It was so kewl (those who don't like XF or just don't want to read me blabbing can skip down to the big star :)
Okay well, you know the girl on Rain King episode? The Blonde...Victoria Jackson. Well I was in my store, just working and I was helping this girl get into the fitting room, no biggie. So I went away to do whatever and when I came back I saw her mom and She looked really fmailar to me. So I'm trying to think "where have I seen that face?"--Then I remember, I'm like "wow, that's neat, she looks exactly like her"--so I hear her voice--sounds exactly like the lady on RK. So I'm thinking, no way--why would she be in this little Pembroke Lakes Mall store? So I couldn't shake the feeling that it was her. So she payed and she got alot of stuff--it was all for her kid--very nice mom. So anyways, I'm hoping that she pays with a credit card or a check so I can see her name, and all the while I'm ringing her up, I'm thinking "what was that ladys name??" then I remembered Victoria, but couldn't remember the last name. So I said to myself, if this lady's name is Victoria, then it has to be her. So she gave me a credit card and guess whoes name was on it!!! VICTORIA JACKSON!!!!!!! I was screaming inside. I go to her "you look familar, were you on an X-Files episode?"
And she goes yeah, and after that I couldn't stop smiling and saying "I can't believe this!" I must have looked like a big goof! Her three kids were there also just staring at me, probably thinking "why are you like this? it's just my mom!" So she left and that was my expierence meeting a XF person :)

Okay, now I have met a Star wars person, and X-files person, and a Buffy person:) I'm totally set now. Also, i can't believe i actually got one,i was in K-Mart today and i thought i just might go see if they have a Darth Maul figure...those kind that you can't find anywhere. Well i was looking at them, and I didn't see any, so i thought "okay, not here." and just when i was about to leave, guess what popped up in fron of me!! Darth Maul!!!--it was the very last one. So if you want a DM figure (if you collect them) try one of the back stores, like K-mart, or walmart one of those places... okay on with the newsletter!

Lucas: Reality can't live up to hype
NEW YORK (AP) -- George Lucas claims he didn't want the hype -- but he's ready for the backlash.
``I certainly expect not to do well critically. I never have. You sort of accept this. When you get a situation like this where you have so much high expectation, you can't possibly live up to that,'' Lucas said Sunday regarding his new installment to the ``Star Wars'' series, ``Episode I: The Phantom Menace.''
He added: ``Most of the 'Star Wars' movies have gotten mostly bad reviews. They've mostly been trashed one way or another, especially by the major media.''
On Sunday, the Daily News gave ``The Phantom Menace'' a lukewarm 2 1/2 stars. Time Magazine critic Richard Corliss called the film ``a phantom movie, the merest hint of a terrific saga that the final two episodes of the new trilogy may reveal.''
Lucas claimed that he ``tried very hard to not let the film be overhyped.'' But he acknowledged that it ``kind of got out of control and got overhyped anyway.''
The movie opens May 19, but fans already are buying up toys, making plans to skip work on opening day and flooding the Internet with chitchat about it.
``It is only a movie,'' Lucas said. ``A lot of people should get a life.''
Despite the fact that the original ``Star Wars'' broke box office records and won seven Academy Awards, Lucas tried to paint himself as a Hollywood outsider dependent on merchandising spin-offs to pay for his films.
Asked about the avalanche of toys, books and video games inspired by ``The Phantom Menace'' and its predecessors, he said: ``I'm an independent filmmaker from San Francisco, and I have had to make sure that I have exploited anything I possibly can. I'm a very small company relative to the studios who have billions of dollars to spend every single year. They can afford to do whatever they want. I can't.''
Which is not to say he doesn't expect to make money from the movie. Although he downplayed expectations that its success could approach that of ``Titanic,'' which made $600 million and is the top-grossing movie of all time, he said he thought it would probably end up in the top 10.
``This is not a contest,'' he said. ``It's a movie. I made it because I enjoy making movies. I really don't have any interest in being No. 1.''
His producer, Rick McCallum, said the movie cost $115 million to make, $5 million less than it was budgeted for.
Lucas said he sees all the ``Star Wars'' movies as being primarily aimed at a young audience.
``This is a Saturday afternoon serial for children,'' he said.
Lucas deflected criticism that he has tried to control every aspect of the film, from the distribution to the production to the capacity of the theaters where it will be shown.
``Everybody says I control everything,'' he said. ``All I do is make the movie. I have an organization that oversees everything else.''
The director said recent technological advances enabled his production team to create any creature or special effect he could envision.
``This is the one time I was able to sit down and let my imagination run wild,'' he said. ``I could dream up whatever I wanted, and I was generally able to pull it off.''
Lucas confirmed he would direct the next two ``Phantom'' installments, Episodes II and III. But he also said there would be no more ``Star Wars'' movies after that.
Thats cause he said all the books have taken care of that.
Okay, i went to the mall today and read an article in Cinescape and i got some info for ep 2. So if you don't want to hear it, then skip the purple part. (but if your a Leo hater, then read the last purple star) So this is what i sketched down, i hope the book store people weren't mad at me, cause i didn't buy the mag! :)

Well, I have to be honest, I didn't go, but I have a good reason. I was dying in bed. I was totally sick, and I still am. But I did go see the movie on the 24th for the 4th time--not on fan day, but close enough, and you know what?--the theater was really crowded. I thought it' be just a few people in there, but it was kinda crowded, a thursday during the day--how weird, but thats Star Wars for ya!!! :)
well since I haven't come across anything really, really great to stick in the newsletter, I guess this will have to do. See thats what happens when you send out letters close together. So whenSW Insider #45--i think it is, comes out, I'll have lots of good info for you all :)

Some sites even go as far as to imply JarJar is gay. They have pictures to "prove" it. They even have video and audio clips. People spend their free time just to bring down JarJar. On the other hand there are just as many sites out there defending JarJar. JarJar defense sites are where people go to stick up for him. They also fight it out with JarJar haters. New Anakin? Ben Jackson
Okay, I sent out an picture of a guy, Ben Jackson, who I hear might be considered for the role of Anakin Skywalker. If you want to see it and haven't seen it yet, then e-mail me and I'll get it to ya!
And for those who are going crazy oevr the idea that Leo might be the next Anakin--that is very, very unlikely.
Who does GL usually go with in his roles?--unknkown people. Carrie, Mark, Harrison, Ewan, Natalie---before the SW movie, people would go "who are these people?"
So, do you really think that GL would go with someone like Leo?--just think about it for a minute, it was a question asked by the media and Rick Macullum coudln't say:
"NO, eeww, we don't want Leo as Anakin!!!"--rather he said somehting nice about him and everyone blew it out of proportion. So those who are worried about it, please, calm down! :)

NEIT289851: Not bad, but I think Nathan Hamill should play the role. I heard Lucas was looking at him as well. In fact, he played a bit part in TPM, like a crowd member. If the name sounds familiar, it's because he's Mark Hamill's son. This would also be nice because it would give a little family resemblance to Anakin and Luke

No1SprGuy: this was my first EU (expanded universe for all you kanuckle heads) that i read. dont ask why i started there, i was just confused. Back to the point, i started reading it, and i was blown away. there were so many changes i didnt know, but it was easy to figure out, the author is really good. Daala was a great imperial presence, i just wish now that she had been in the trilogies and the other EU books.i was truely heart broken and brought to tears when my favorite character got shot down on kessel. i was like. "Oh my god, they killed the falcon, you ********". lol. you may wanna edit that one out casila. (way ahead of you there :)) Ackbar is also a character i really like and him resigning was weird, but the way he set things up was even better. and the raid into the maw was incredible. but thats all i can remember cuz its been about 7-8monts since i read em.
Casila: HHmmm, let me think here. It's been a long while since i read these books, but of what i remember, they were really good. I especially liked how they defeated Exar Kun and brought him back (oh come on, thats not a spoiler, how do you think they got all those other books! :))
At first i was confused when i started reading them, but then i got into it. I kind thought Daala was kind stupid. I don't know why, maybe cause she kept on attacking stuff with only a couple of Star Destroyers or something, but the whole time i felt like "hey! i could beat this girl!"
